The Ultimate Vacuum & Mop Review

One of the questions I get the most in my Instagram DMs is “how are your floors always so clean?” And the truth is that I have a collection of vacuums and mops and Vac/Mops. It’s actually pretty entertaining to me because I use every single one of them so I thought it was about time that I shared all my babies with you and tell you their purpose. Scroll to the end if you want to see which vacuum wins over the rest as the “vacuum Jyoti can’t live without”.

Vacuums

Dyson V10 Animal+ Cordless Vacuum Cleaner

I’ve been a Dyson girl for a long time now and for a brief moment I switched to the LG vacuum thinking it might be better, but it was not. Costco is the reason I started using Dyson. It’s been considered the best of the best for a long time, but to be completely honest, there are cheaper vacuums that work equally as well. I’ve heard amazing things about Shark which is also at Costco. I use this primary for my rugs, stairs, car and the one carpeted room in the house.

Pros

  • Has 3 power settings to get the right suction

  • Lightweight enough

  • Good warranty, especially if purchased at Costco

  • Powerful

  • Cordless

  • Better battery life than previous Dyson models

  • Easy to clean

  • Comes with multiple attachments

Cons

  • Expensive

  • Can sometimes scratch floor if particle gets stuck

  • Doesn’t easily vacuum large messes on wood floors without the wood floor attachment which costs extra

  • You have to hold down the the button to vaccuum which is annoying

Shark WandVac Handheld Vacuum

This little baby was also a Costco purchase, although I don’t think they carry it there any more. This Shark vacuum is used daily in my house. It’s perfect for cleaning up little messes on the counters and getting little hairballs from the corner. This is also the vacuum the kids use when I tell them to clean up a mess like Cheerio crumbs all over the floor.

Pros

  • Lightweight

  • price point (I got it for $99 at Costco)

  • Easy to use and clean

  • Fits in small hands

  • Charging station is nice

Cons

  • Suction is just okay but probably because of it’s size

  • Dust bin is small and needs to emptied frequently

Mops

Shark Steam Mop S1000 Series

This was one of the first mops I bought and I still use it today. It’s affordable and durable and really gets the floor cleaned. BUT I only use it after I mop for an extra clean. I don’t like like to use it on a dirty dirty floor because then you’re just pushing dirt around in my opinion and the pad on the bottoms needs to be changed several times with the amount of square footage I have. BUT I use it for the stuff that won’t come off with my other mops and the floors always feel extra clean when I pull out the steam mop.

Pros

  • Cheap (I see it on sale here for $50)

  • Works — it steams up really well and gets tough sticky things off the floors

  • Good size water tank

  • Washable mop pads (Sustainable)

Cons

  • Cannot be your only mop

  • Pads are impossible to get white again and always look dirty so it’s hard to know when they are actually dirty.

  • Not cordless which means constantly plugging it in as you move through the house. .

O-Cedar EasyWring Microfiber Spin Mop Bucket System

Not gonna lie, sometimes the basic stuff just works. Mop, bucket and some floor cleaner (I use thieves or branch basics, sometimes Murphy oil to get that shine) This is your basic mop, but better. The spin feature cleans the mops as you go so you’re not just pushing dirty water around ALTHOUGH you are because when you spin the mop, the dirty water goes into the clean water.

Pros

  • Affordable

  • Washable mop heads

  • Easy to move around one floor

Cons

  • Difficult to take up and down stairs

  • Mixing of clean and dirty water

  • Loud when spinning so not great if your baby is tasking a nap]

  • Take a lot of man power to mop

Vac-Mops

Yeedi Vac 2 Robot Vacuum And Mop

I’ll start off by saying, every house with children or a pet needs a robot vac. It make a huge difference to run your robot vac when you leave the house and come back to clean floors. Both of the ones I have are Vac-mops because I need both. I love this robot vac and have had it for years, but there are certain aspects I don’t like. He’s now my upstairs robot vac/mop and gets the job done.

Pros

  • Small and fits under the couch

  • High suction power

  • Mops and Vacuums simultaneously

  • Auto emptying into trash bag

  • Can start vacuum from any location even when not near it

  • Affordable

  • Avoids carpet while in mop mode

Cons

  • Small water tank

  • Small mop pad that needs constant changing

  • hair gets caught easily

  • Hard to clean and maintain

  • Only maps 1 level

  • Raised off the ground

  • No hair gets caught

  • Easy to clean and maintain

  • Large water tank

  • Maps multiple levels

  • Voice commands

  • easy to direct through app

  • Best technology I’ve experienced

  • Recycles dirty water in and pushes clean water out while mopping

  • works on all floors

  • Auto detects type of floor for optimal clean

Cons:

  • Expensive

  • Cannot start away from home

  • Too large to go under couch

Tineco Floor ONE S5 Smart Cordless Vacuum Cleaner and Mop for Hard Floors

My baby. Here she is. The winner of my floor cleaner collection. The Tineco changed my life and I recommend it to everyone I come across. It’s the king of vacuums and I truly love mine so much. It can literally pick up anything. So like you know when you break a glass on the floor and then you pick up all the big pieces but have to clean up the micro pieces on the floor? Well this guy does that WITHOUT scratching the floors. It’s such a huge thing for me because I don’t want a micro glass to get stuck in anyone’s foot (or hands for the baby) so I feel so reassured knowing it was allllll picked up. It also picks up dog vomit, baby vomit and rice and stuff.

Pros:

  • Vacuums and mops simultaneously

  • Large clean water tank

  • Large dirty water tank

  • Easy to clean

  • Self cleaning mode

  • Long battery life

  • Works on all hard floors

  • Kind of leads itself so it feels lighter than it is while you use it

Cons

  • Doesn’t work on carpet although I’ve taken it over my rug with no isssues

  • Have to clean after each use to avoid smells

  • Pricey (but worth every penny)

Are there any that you recommend that I don’t own? Let me know in the comments! I doubt I need another floor cleaner, but I’m not opposed.
